Willie Kathryn Suggs Licensed Real Estate Brokers
located in the heart of Historic Harlem is headed by owner-broker Willie Kathryn Suggs.
The firm specializes in sales and rentals of one to four family homes, condos and co-ops in Harlem and Washington Heights. Since becoming a licensed real estate saleperson in 1985, Ms. Suggs and her subsequent brokerage firm have consistantly set records in sales and rentals of properties in Upper Manhattan. She was the first to sell a Harlem home at the $500,000*; $650.000**; $750.000***; $850,000****and $925,000**** price points.
Office staff, agents, and associate brokers are required to live and own property in the area the office covers.

With the use of innovative sales techniques such as multiple open houses with complimentary transportation between the homes. Ms. Suggs' office continues to lead all uptown firms in the number of sales and rentals. The customer base is also broadened by sponsoring Home Buyers' Fairs at local Harlem churches. These events are free to the public. A buffet lunch is provided for attendees who can learn about the buying process from real estate industry professionals. Her firm participates in the Greater Harlem Real Estate Board Home Buyer's Fair; the Fannie Mae and Metro Expo Home Buyers Fairs held at Madison Square Garden. Ms. Suggs was the first and remains the primary advertiser in The Real Estate Book- a color catalogue of homes for Manhattan 96th street and above. The office routinely runs six pages of photographs of properties for "www.williesuggsharlem.com" web site and seventeen other national web sites including "Yahoo!"

Sugg's office was the exclusive broker for the Hamilton Heights-Washington Heights HomeWorks site, developed by John Cross/Cross Construction. That site of 30 homes was the first to close title with the City of New York; the first site to begin construction; and the first site to close all of its' properties. Her office also marketed the Harlem-West HomeWorks site of 30 properties for the Abyssinian Development Corporation. Ms. Lisa Silversmith, a long time Harlem owner-developer, has purchased six small apartment houses through Ms. Suggs' Office. and has called upon the office to manage and find tenants for those properties since 1985.

Ms. Suggs, an acknowlegded expert on the Upper Manhattan real estate market, is frequently sought out by the news media to comment on the current state and future of the market uptown. She has been interviewed and quoted by the Wall Street Journal; New York Times; New York Daily News; New York Magazine; New York Observer; New York Post; Ebony; Smithsonian; German Financial Times; Christian Science Monitor; Boston Globe; The Financial Times; The London Times; ABC's Good Morning America; the CBS Morning Show; the CBS Week-end News; WCBS-TV, WWOR-TV, Fox 5 TV, ARD German Television; BBC radio; WINS radio, and the Voice of the America. She was profiled in 1997 by Bloomberg Television in a series on successful real estate brokers. Bob Vila's "Restore Ameica" sought Ms. Suggs' assistance in the preparation of a report on the re-birth of Harlem. Ms. Suggs is one of the interviews in the segment that aired in January, 2000 on the House and Garden Television Network. Her firm was the first to be featured in several Manhattan branches of Citibank as the local "Realtor of the Month"

Ms. Suggs' office has been a proud supporter of numerous community groups. Sponsorships include the first ever Harlem United Show House for Aids Research(1998.) Her office has provided substantial financial support to the annual Hamilton Heights Homeowners House and Garden Tour; the Mt. Morris Park Historic House Tour, the West 119th, West 146th , West 159th and Hamilton Terrace Block Associations; The Children's Art Carnival; Figure Skating in Harlem; and the annual Johnnie Hartman Plaza Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Ms. Suggs came to real estate after a successful career in television journalism. She was a news reporter and show producer at WITI-TV 6 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a staff news reporter, and show producer in the ABC TV network news division. Ms.Suggs was the staff writer and served as an associate producer on the award winning prime time series, "All American" that profiled such celebrities as Diana Ross.

A graduate of Columbia University with a Masters Degree in History, Ms. Suggs was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Marquette University.

Ms. Suggs offices occupy two floors of the four story row house she owns in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of West Harlem.
